		<description>As a scientist, I spend a huge amount of time thinking about the best way to present my data, so I&#039;ve got a fair bit of experience working with all sorts of visualization tools and techniques.

There are tons of open-source data visualization tools worth checking out. Here are a few: Veusz, QtiPlot, and Mayavi. If you&#039;re interested in machine learning, check out Orange or Weka. Personally, I tend to use command-line-oriented programs such as gnuplot, since I require absolute flexibility for publication-quality images.</description>
