		<description>The problem with iPhone pictures on Flickr is deeper than 140 characters can nuance. The EXIF data is there for data mining, but is not used by Flickr to deliver value to the person posting the picture by placing it on their map. As such it doesn&#039;t give you any value but it does cause many of my friends angst.

I&#039;d agree it&#039;s great that the iPhone is doing that location tagging. I&#039;d just like to see Flickr decide to hide that particular piece of EXIF data by default and then offer the user the ability to place the photo on their map automagically, rather than making the default be to display it but only for the benefit of the data miner.</description>
