i don’t use AdBlock for precisely these moral reasons; although i don’t enjoy them, ads supply the bulk of the revenue for most of the services that i do enjoy. to each their own, of course, but i felt irresponsible running it.

I wouldn’t say ‘bittersweet’, I’d use this picture.
I’m quite liking NoScript for blocking ads and annoyances, since it allows plain ads through, and you can turn on scripting (and hence dynamic ads) for a particular site easily.
