Just a quick note to give you a heads up, that there is at least one traditional hosting company that realised the potential in the same model that Amazon is persuing (back in 2004 in fact).  We&#039;ve just finalised the first release of FlexiScale, which is a direct rival to Amazon&#039;s EC2 service (including on-demand permanent storage as well).

We may be a midget in size compared to Amazon, but we do have a lot of the same aims (and so far have more features than EC2 for hosting with).

I&#039;d be happy to discuss it further with you if you are interested.
