[...] Sean notes: Today, if you decide to leave any virtual world platform (even OpenSim), you pretty much have to leave you data behind. I think that one of the features people will be looking for in the virtual worlds of tomorrow is the same freedom to leave that they get from any standard web or mail infrastructure provider today. Part of what has made Google successful in the application hosting space is by ensuring it’s easy to leave the platform. [...]

we're already using Google Apps, guy- they bought the tools we use, remember- we have spreadsheets and documents stored on the web with good through writely etc. Those pesky users just did an end run around the organisation, and our CIO has gone completely native. so the only real question is decommissioning Zimbra right? I mean we're already a Google apps shop.

That said - while we're not negotiating that many $50m deals, some of the information our clients share with under NDA is potentially worth revenues on that scale- dont forget that. Our clients secrecy and attitudes on corporate privacy are very important.

I won't be firing you, but damned if i don't get some concessions out of you in other areas during negotiations!

There's no Calendar mobile Web version, that's what's stopping me. Mobile Reader, on the other hand, is great and I could send an RSS feed from Calendar to Reader, although that lacks true reminders. I have to pay extra for SMS.

Also, is there any sort of groupware aspect to it? When you tell Joe Manager to pick some open time, can he "pencil himself in," so to speak, pending your approval? Otherwise simultaneous scheduling gets very complex, because people pick the same open times before you can get back to them.
