Yeah, first thing I looked for was a Gentoo image. I know any packaging system can t be scripted for config, but Gentoo’s one line emerge seems perfect for a temporary machine.

Andy: i concur. Ubuntu’s not a bad alternate, but i’d love to be able to spool up Gentoo images as needed.
