amen; i just discovered what CTL-R does in bash about 8 months ago

this is a bit beyond my skillset, but i should look into it: i feel bad just restricting my network to trusted MAC addresses

WEP keys are useless except as a courtesy sign saying “please don’t use my network.” If you actually want to keep people out, look into something like WPA Enterprise.

i agree, Donnie, which is precisely why i don’t use them. i pass most information on my network along unfiltered; if there’s something i’m worried about i’ll plug in to do it.
i do not, however, wish to offer unrestricted access to my network, which is why i restrict it to trusted PC’s only.
the setup described in the link is better, though, in that it allows browsers to be able to patch through w/o access to the network it sits on.
