Currently I'm using TextMate which is only for OS X at the moment. It's a very nice text editor, but no where near a development environment such as VS. I have yet to try eclipse.

I agree, I experimented with RDT in eclipse this week as well and I was pretty impressed. For one Eclipse has gotten much faster over the last couple of releases making it no such a hassle to fire up if I'm not already using it. The RDT also fit seemlessly into Eclipse and the integrated debugger is very nice. I look forward to future development of the RDT. When it gets code insight and completion working furter it will be my solution for working with Ruby.
