To answer the question quite a few of you have asked, I will not be travelling over the Thanksgiving holiday. Instead, my family is very graciously coming out here to Denver. For the first time in recent memory, I will not be the one making a multi-hour trek to head home for the holidays. Apart from shopping for the Thanksgiving meal, which was an ordeal in and of itself (and is not quite finished), it’s a very good thing. The fam will be arriving this evening, and when you throw in a friend’s birthday party tonight, it’s looking like a fairly busy next couple of days.

Before I head out this afternoon, I wanted to check in with a couple of quick, random thoughts:

  1. Subscribing Via Email:
Following my colleague’s lead, I’ve taken the liberty of setting up email subscriptions to the blog for those readers that do not use an RSS aggregator. To subscribe, simply head to the site and scroll down a page or two. There should be an email subscription box in there, so just plug your email in there and you’ll be kept up to speed on all the important doings here.

  2. Thanksgiving Week Schedule:
With family in town, I’ll be unavailable for the rest of the week. If you need to reach someone, I suggest getting in touch with my colleague.

  3. Next Week’s Schedule:
After enjoying my two weeks of no travel, I’ll be right back on the road next week, as I’m headed to NY Tues afternoon through Thursday evening. Following that, I have one more trip mid-December and then I’m grounded until the end of Jan.

  4. Email:
My Gmail as a front end to Exchange experiment has now ended, thanks to one dedicated ASP-One support technician who spent almost 45 minutes on the phone with me last week telneting into the various ports on our Exchange server to determine that, as I contended, IMAP was not enabled on the server I told to connect to. What this means for all of you is that pre-Gmail To Do’s are now available to me once more, so you should be seeing some very belated follow up’s shortly. For anything urgent, I once more urge you to use IM.

  5. Burger King Guy:
Is it just me, or is the creepy lurking Burger King guy from their current TV spots really funny? I can’t say he makes me want to eat at Burger King, but for some reason I find the idea of the King highly amusing.

So with that, I’m off to tie up a few loose ends and from thence to a somewhat deserved holiday. If you’re in the States and have the time off, enjoy it and be safe, and if you’re outside the US enjoy not hearing from us for a couple of days 🙂

It’s not just you. But it does take an interesting sense of humor — I think he’s hysterical, but my wife thinks he’s just creepy.
