		<description>Nice writeup.  I do think you and James are changing the rules of the game - you're certainly changing expectations of what one should get from an effective analyst firm.  

Oh, and I wholeheartedly agree with your comment on communities - building a community is difficult, long-term work.  And it requires heart and soul to be effective.

Great post.   I think three points hit home for me.   

1) The value open source analysis provides is not just the blogs or the reports, it is really the network, advice and introductions.   In fact, this should be the core value of any analyst.  You guys just have the courage to stand by your core values.  I think eventually the big guys will see the light but it will take time.

2) Communities are a big barrier to entry.  Communities take a long time to build and then nurture.   You guys have a great start.

3) I am soooo glad you guys don't have sales reps.   I feel the pain!
