This past weekend, my brother bought a new car. Where’d he find it? eBay. Two weeks ago, I bought a house. Where’d I find it? Cragslist. The past month or two I’ve been looking for web designers and PHP folks. Where’d I look? Blogs.
I’m not going to expound on what this portends for the future, but I will say that 2005 is a lot different than 2004 for me, let alone 2000. I’m beginning to think that my proposed subtitle for the Long Tail book - “How Mass Markets Became Masses of Markets” - actually has some legs.
