At What Point Do I Begin Sacrificing Chickens?

Seriously. Can I get from point A to point B one time without incident? Just one time. Took off fine from Portland yesterday, then got put in a holding pattern above Philly. After a mad dash from Terminal F to Terminal B (you know you’re in trouble when you hear “shuttle” in reference to getting from one terminal to another), I make the connecting flight, only to have that delayed because we’re waiting on catering to replenish our water supply. Just when I think I have it made, and we arrive nearly on time thanks to a real rarity (tailwind heading from East to West – never had that before), my shuttle doesn’t show up. And as an aside to Super Shuttle, the following exchange really wasn’t what I was looking for at midnight:

“Hi, I’m calling to find out where my shuttle is?”
“Hi, yes I see your reservation, how long have you been waiting?”
“About 25 minutes.”
“Well, you should wait another 25, and if you don’t see one, you should probably take a cab.”

Gotta love it, especially since SFO to San Jose is an $85 fare.

But it can’t rain all the time, as they say, and every new trip is an opportunity for me to have an incident free trip. As of right now (40 minutes before takeoff), we’re still on time, and it appears the crew is here. Who knows, maybe this is it.
