Lucent Softmodem AMR User? I Have the Answer

If you’re in Windows and your Device Manager (right click My Computer, select Manage, and click on Device Manager) reports your modem to be a Lucent Softmodem AMR (or lspci reports it in Linux as Intel Corp. 82801CA/CAM AC’97 Modem Controller), and you cruised over here or here looking for Linux drivers only to find that they don’t support the AMR modems, fear not. I have the answer, and it’s here. I don’t know how or why it works, I just know that it does. And now the last remaining hardware driver hole on my Linux laptop is gone.
