RIA's and Portals – RIA Weekly #41

James rocks the hoodie blazer

You can download this episode directly directly and it’ll also show up in the RIA Weekly feed for iTunes and other podcatchers. Or, just use the controls below to listen to it right here:

This week’s RIA Weekly features a nice discussion of portals and RIAs. The guest co-host, James Ward, mentioned to me back at Adobe MAX 08 that portals were an interesting area for RIAs to look at for RIA use. Since he was filling in for Ryan Stewart this week, I thought I’d get the low-down from him. Interestingly, we end up questioning if the idea of “portals” would really exist in an RIA-dominated world and end up pointing towards the work Lotus has been doing with things like Lotus Expeditor.

We also cover the week’s news and go over the momentum that Appcelerator Titanium has had so far. And, you can find out how you can (try to) get a free Pokem!

As a broader note, I haven’t been cross posting RIA Weekly episodes here for sometime since I moved them off onto their own site, RIAWeekly.com. If you’ve been missing the weekly episodes, go check ’em out over there. The week before last, episode 40, Bill Higgins and I discussed Ajax, IBM, and developing for UIs; and 2 weeks ago, in episode 39, Ryan Stewart and I talked about video and RIAs in the cloud.

Your best bet, of course, is to simply subscribe to the RIA Weekly podcast feed.
