barcampESM this weekend, in Austin

In case you’ve missed it or just need a reminder: don’t forget that barcampESM is this weekend (Jan 19th with a little party-thing the night of Jan 18th), right here in Austin, Texas. You should come: it’s free, and bound to be fun.

Looking over the list of attendees, it’s looking like I’ll get to hang out with tons of “online friends” and blog-buddies, meeting several of them for the first time, as well as several RedMonk clients (if you want to plan a private meeting while you’re in town, feel free to contact me).

John and are planning on recording the second episode of the IT Management Podcast while we’re there, and hopefully several additional episodes with all the folks around. His panel on monitoring should be good too, check-out the all-star cast:

Monitoring: the good, the bad, and the ugly – For the first time in the ESM industry we will have sessions that include some of the top open source monitoring providers with two of the leading commercial monitoring providers talking about how to improve monitoring and ESM (“Monitoring: The good, the bad, and the ugly”). We have confirmed four key panelist’s confirmed: (Taurus Balog – Creator of OpenNMS, Erik Dahl – CTO & Co-Founder, Heath Newburn – The Worldwide Product Manager for IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Chip Holden from BMC Software).

Check out episode 01 of the IT Management Podcast for more details on it if you’re interested.

I don’t have a lot of RedMonk schwag on-hand, but if you want some, catch me and I’ll see what I can do 😉

See ya’ll there!

Disclaimer: check out the RedMonk clients page for companies that are, well, clients of ours.
