@ApacheCon US

I’m here at ApacheCon in the downtown, Austin Hilton. I, of course, live in Austin, so the travel wasn’t too bad.

Sally Khudairi has kindly introduced me to several people — such as Sander Striker above — and Sally and I had a fun lunch talking about getting more people involved with open source and a whole slew of other things.

Tomorrow, I’ll be in Sally’s tutorial (“Media/Analyst Training”) for the last part as “the live, real analyst” to practice briefings on. That should be fun for me as it’ll be 40-60 minutes of lightening briefings, each around 5 minutes, and, I hope, helpful to the participants.

I have a few other things schedule, but if you’re here and you’re interested in talking or just saying hello, feel free to contact me. What with being from here, I can tell you where to get the best BBQ, Tex-Mex, beer, oh, and maybe some RedMonk analysis and advice if you get enough of the brisket and enchiladas ;>

  4. Thomas: send me your mailing address and I'll mail you some Ruby's BBQ sauce. Really.
